When I was training for the GS Trophy, I met Warren Venter, a South African who invited me to the world-famous Country Trax adventure riding academy in South Africa. It took me about 10 minutes to decide, and within half an hour I had plane tickets to South Africa. After a week of riding at Country Trax, I had made incredible riding progress, not only because of the great training conditions, but also because of the local riders who are happy and open to share their know-how.
I’ve had a lot of friends on Instagram (@andrew_pov1) telling me that they’ve been following my journey and would like to experience a similar „fly to ride“ expedition – just this was the impulse that drove Waren and I to start a travel agency and open bookings for our first expeditions in and around South Africa.
South Africa is where I’ve experienced my best riding and biggest progression as a rider. The combination of training in Country Trax, travelling, exploring the countryside and meeting the locals seems to me to be an absolutely brilliant combination of how to experience the real Africa. But at the same time, you can also treat yourself to a delicious meal in the evening in stunning, classy accommodation.
